Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Schema Stones are tools that can be used to create Zonai vehicles in a flash, so here's how to obtain all 12 of them in Tears of the Kingdom.

Autobuild is the last Ability that Link will get in Tears of the Kingdom. It's also the only one that can't be obtained from the Great Sky Island during the tutorial. As its name indicates, Autobuild can be used to put together previous vehicles that were created with Ultrahand Ability. For those that don't want to get too creative with the building process, there are Schema Stones.

The Schema Stones are obtained from Steward Constructs. They are essentially blueprints for simple or creative devices. In Tears of the Kingdom, there are 12 Schema Stones, and all but one of them can be obtained from the Abandoned Mines in The Depths.

Autobuild can only be obtained from the Great Abandoned Central MIne, which is located in The Depths under the Great Plateau. The easiest way to reach the Great Abandoned Central Mine is to start from the Nihcayam Lightroot (-0705, -0867, 00481) and head south towards -0823, -1948, -0523. The Great Abandoned Central Mine looks like ancient temple ruins, so it shouldn't be hard to miss even in The Depths.

Players will then get Autobuild after defeating Master Kohga of the Yiga. When using Autobuild with L-button, a menu will appear listing "Favorited" inventions, "Schematics," and "Previous Inventions." The previously-made inventions will disappear the more Link builds things with Ultrahand, but anything Favorited or part of the Schematics will remain.

Schematics are blueprints to Zonai inventions, and they're only accessible when Link receives a Schema Stone. At each abandoned mine in The Depths, there will be one inactive Steward Construct who will give Link a Schema Stone once activated.

To use a Schema Stone/Schematc, select one of the inventions under the "Schematics" menu. If Link doesn't have all the parts, then it will cost Zonaite to make up for them. Thus, it's always best to use a Schematic when there are nearby parts or a Zonai Dispenser if possible.

With 12 Schema Stones to collect, players will want to visit every abandoned mine in The Depths. These mines are located in The Depths where villages/cities are established on The Surface. The only exception are two Schema Stones, one of which is found in a place that will be familiar Breath of the Wild players. Here's each Schema Stone and how to obtain them:

Location: The Fanplane Schema Stone can is found at the Great Abandoned Central Mine (-0823, -1948, -0523).

Players will get the Fanplane from the Steward Construct at the Great Abanadoned Central Mine after they defeat Master Kohga for the first time. This Schema Stone essentially serves as a "tutorial" for the Autobuild ability, so every player that does the "Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan" Side Adventure will at least get this one. As its name indicates, the Fanplane is a Zonai wing with three Zonai fans to propel it forward. The Schema Stone is lacking a Steering Stick, so Link won't be able to steer it unless he already has one in his inventory.

Location: The Hot-Air Balloon Schema Stone is given to Link by Josha at Lookout Landing once players have completed certain quest lines and unlocked the Autobuild Ability.

After players have received the Camera Rune from Robbie and completed at least one Temple, they can speak to Josha for the side quest "A Mystery in the Depths." If players have already received the Autobuild Ability and Fanplane Schema Stone from part 1 of "Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan," they can speak to Josha after "Camera Work in the Depths" to get the Hot-Air Balloon Schema Stone.

Location: The Dirigible Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Lurelin Mine (2944, -3336, -0454).

This Schema Stone can be received from a Steward Construct at the Abandoned Lurelin Mine after Link clears out the Yiga Clan Members. Alternatively, he can wear the complete Yiga Set and activate the Constructs without having to fight. The Dirigible is similar to the Hot-Air Balloon, but it's fitted with torches and Zonai flame-emitters. This means if the flame-emitters drain out, the lit torches will still make the Dirigible airborne until the Zonai balloons disappear.

Location: The Hovercraft Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Gerudo Mine (-3846, -2945, -0487).

The Abandoned Gerudo Mine is part of the "Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan" side adventure. Players will be directed to this Abandoned Mine after getting the Autobuild Ability. They must first defeat Kohga in his flying mobile before they can get the Schema Stone from the Steward Construct. The easiest way to beat Kohga is to use the Zonai Springs to leap into the air and then fire arrows at him. The Hovercraft is good when exploring The Depths because Link will remain impervious to the gloom so long as he's operating it.

Location: The Bolt Boat Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Lanayru Mine (3255, 0592, -0750).

The Bolt Boat Schema Stone is obtained after defeating Kohga at the Anadoned Lanayru Mine, which is part 3 of the "Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan." This battle takes place on the water. This Kohga-Battle is much easier if players have Yunobo's Spirit, since he can be fired at Kohga's boat from a distance. After Kohga's been defeated, speak to a nearby Steward Construct, and it'll give Link the Schema Stone for the Bolt Boat, which has a Zonai shock emitter attached to it.

Location: The Beam Cycle Schema Stone can be found in the Shrine of Resurrection (-1023, -1793, 0147) on the Great Plateau.

The Beam Cycle Schema Stone is the second Schema Stone that's obtained on The Surface. Players will want to make their way to the Great Plateau's Shrine of Resurrection, the starting place in Breath of the Wild. This can be reached by going south from the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower. Enter the Shrine of Resurrection which is south from -1023, -1793, 0147. Drop into the cave and defeat the Yiga Clan members. The Steward Construct will give Link the Beam Cycle Schema Stone as thanks. However, players need to have the Autobuild Ability or else it won't give Link the stone and he'll have to come back later.

Location: The Bridge Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Hateno Mine (3561, -2210, -0588).

Clear out the Yiga Clan at the Abandoned Hateno Mine, then get the Bridge Schema Stone from the Steward Construct. Unlike the previous Schema Stones, this one isn't a vehicle and may be relatively useless to some players. This is because there are Hudson Construction boards all over Hyrule for players to make their own bridge, vehicle, etc. However, a Bridge Schema Stone can come in handy when there's nothing around to build (ex: on the Sky Islands).

Location: The Instant Scaffold Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Kara Kara Mine (-3209, -2470, -0475).

Another non-vehicle Schema Stone, the Instant Scaffold may be underwhelming, but it has its uses. The way the Scaffold is stacked means Link can use Ascend on it. Players should know the drill at this point: Clear out the Yiga Clan at the Abanadoned Kara Kara Mine and get the Instant Scaffold from the Construct.

Location: The Rocket Platform Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Hebra Mine (-3478, 1885, -0417).

The Abandoned Hebra Mine is the last part of the "Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan." Its chasm is hidden directly under Rito Village and is the final clue in tracking down Ganondorf's location. The fight here will require the help of the fifth sage, so players won't get this Schema Stone until the end-game. As a device, the Rocket Platform will send Link into the sky, and, thanks to the Gravity Stone, he'll remain elevated so long as the Zonai Battery doesn't deplete.

Location: The Automated Ally Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Eldin Mine (1641, 2393, -0824).

The Abandoned Eldin Mine is right next to the Fire Temple, which can be reached from the chasm on Death Mountain. Players will automatically be given access to the Fire Temple while working on "Yunobo of the Goron" main quest. This Schema Stone creates a Zonai device that will sense enemies and attack them. It's great to have if players don't have all the Spirits and need some extra firepower.

Location: The Launch Pad Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Kakariko Mine (1796, -1227, -0629).

The best way to reach the Abandoned Kakariko Mine is to enter the chasm located a bit northeast of Kakariko Village; it's hard to miss. There will be a Construct that will give Link the Launch Pad Schema Stone. This is a very useful device as it's designed to send Link flying in whatever direction the spring is facing.

Location: The Instant Cannon Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Tarrey Mine (3986, 1583, -0576).

The Instant Cannon is located beneath Tarrey Town, but it's best to Activate the Kawikatisar Lightroot (4168, 1324, -0694) so that it's easier to see on the map. Tarrey Town's abandoned mine can be found by walking a narrow pathway between two cliffs. There aren't any Yiga Clan members at this abandoned mine, so players can walk on in and activate the Construct to get the Instant Cannon. This device is great for blasting away rock walls and enemies. The crystal device it's attached to allows Link to adjust the height of the cannon.
